What are the microplastics?
Microplastics are tiny plastic particles, smaller than 5 millimetres, found in water, soil, air and food. They come from larger plastic waste breaking down and from everyday activities.
By understanding how microplastics enter and affect our environment, we can develop better ways to prevent pollution and protect our planet.
