EDU4PLASTIC Training Presented at Transilvania University of Brașov

Prof. Angela Repanovici from the Transilvania University of Brașov, partner in the EDU4PLASTIC project, presented the project’s training and qualification program at the Research Center for Advanced Mechatronic Systems in Industry and Medicine.

The presentation targeted this department due to its strong connection to fields where plastics play a vital role—such as mechatronics, industrial engineering, and medical technologies. In these sectors, plastics are widely used in components, packaging, automation systems, and medical applications, where they are essential for safety and innovation but also contribute significantly to waste.

Through EDU4PLASTIC, the aim is to promote a more responsible and informed approach to plastic use by developing professional training, raising awareness, and building competencies for sustainable practices—from responsible consumption to recycling and alternative materials.

The session was met with strong interest and openness from academic staff and PhD students, highlighting the importance of collaboration between education, research, and industry in addressing plastic pollution and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable future.
