Edu4PlastiC Consortium Launches International Collaboration to Tackle Polymer Pollution

The Edu4PlastiC consortium, together with I&S Company and four leading academic institutions, has launched a new collaboration to address the global challenge of polymer pollution and to foster a new generation of environmentally conscious professionals.

The initiative brings together the University of Insubria, the University of Trento, the National University of Mongolia, and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, combining expertise across environmental chemistry, engineering, sustainability, and applied research.

Within the collaboration, the University of Insubria and the University of Trento will provide scientific supervision and methodological frameworks. The National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian University of Life Sciences will focus on monitoring and data collection, particularly on microplastic contamination in water resources and the food chain under Mongolia’s extreme climatic conditions. I&S Company will contribute engineering solutions for collecting and transforming plastic waste into secondary raw materials.

Edu4PlastiC will support the initiative through educational courses, dissemination of research results, and awareness-raising activities, using specialized digital learning tools to reach students, professionals, and the wider public.

By combining science, engineering, and education across continents, the partners aim to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable, and environmentally friendly world.
