EDU4PlastiCircular Publishes Its 12th Newsletter: Final Edition Highlighting LTTA2 in Varese

The EDU4PlastiCircular project has published its 12th newsletter, the final edition of the project newsletter series.

This edition focuses on the project’s second Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA2), held in Varese, Italy, from 31 August to 4 September 2026. Hosted mainly by the University of Insubria at Villa Toeplitz, the five-day programme brought project partners together for training, exchange of good practices, practical learning, environmental awareness activities and joint work on the future sustainability of EDU4PlastiCircular.

During LTTA2, participants explored the educational resources developed within the project, including the Open Educational Resources, starter-kit e-book and Digital Library, and discussed how these materials can support green-skills development in higher education and beyond.

The programme also featured the exchange of good practices among partner institutions and a field-learning day in the Lake Maggiore area. Participants visited and networked with CNR-IRSA, the Water Research Institute of the Italian National Research Council, and connected environmental education with direct experience of freshwater environments and research into plastic pollution.

The final two days focused on consolidating project results, reviewing deliverables and key performance indicators, and discussing dissemination, sustainability, and the continued use of EDU4PlastiCircular resources after the formal project period. The partners also prepared for the project’s final event, planned for 30 October 2026 in hybrid format and organised by the Politehnica University of Timișoara.

As EDU4PlastiCircular approaches its conclusion, the 12th newsletter reflects on how education, scientific knowledge, international cooperation and real-world experience can work together to strengthen awareness of plastic pollution, circular economy principles and green skills. The project may be coming to an end, but its resources, ideas and results will continue to support future learning and collaboration.
