Recognition for Sustainable Plastics Research at UPV

The Edu4plastic project is proud to share that Alexandra Lledo, a researcher from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), has been awarded Second Prize in the UBE Chair of Sustainable Plastics of the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) in its third edition. This recognition highlights her outstanding research in the field of sustainable materials and circular economy.

Her Master’s Final Project, titled “Revalorization of an Agricultural Residue, the Artichoke Cynara Scolymus, for the Development of a Circular Economy in Industrial Applications,” was conducted as part of the Master’s Degree in Engineering, Processing, and Characterization of Materials at UPV. The research explores how agricultural waste, specifically artichoke residues, can be repurposed for industrial applications, promoting sustainable practices and resource efficiency.

The UBE Chair of Sustainable Plastics at UJI has played a key role in supporting and recognizing impactful research in sustainability. The award also acknowledges the contributions of Dr. José Enrique Crespo Amorós, who supervised the project, and Dr. Juan López, who provided further research opportunities in the field.

This achievement underscores the importance of innovation in sustainable plastics and highlights the dedication of researchers at UPV to advancing circular economy solutions.
